Clip One:
This clip explains what in fact inquiry learning is. It states that inquiry learning is where students take a greater control of their learning and the learning is open-ended and is not always predictable. Inquiry learning also emphasizes the ability to creatively view, problem solve, question and explore various concepts. The clip also examines the constructivist theory and how it also incorporates questions, exploring, and reflecting into meaningful learning experiences based on child-directed learning. Lastly, the clip includes teaching strategies to support inquiry learning such as debates, brainstorm, collaboration, excursions, and role-play.

The clip introduces inquiry based learning as educational approaches driven by learners’ questions. It involves an eighth grade science class discussing the environmental waste in their community. The teacher’s role is to mainly encourage her students to ask new questions that they care about. Through collaborative groups, the students come up with questions to test and they come up with procedure to test it. Through inquiry-based learning, students develop a sense of ownership, are engaged in the learning process, and collaborate, collect, and analyze their data.
